Art Scholarship Application

Steps to apply for an Art Scholarship and Receive
an On-campus Interview

1)Apply and be accepted for admission at CSB/SJU.
2)Submit the online Art Scholarship Application (scroll down to complete application).
3)Have an art teacher or instructor complete the Art, Music and Theater Recommendation Form.

 On-Campus Interview Process

  • Once a student has been accepted for admission at CSB/SJU and all of the above steps have been completed, the date and time of the student's interview will be confirmed by email.
  • On the day of the on-campus interview, students must bring a CD containing 10-15 images for a PowerPoint presentation of their work to review and be prepared to discuss the work presented, as well as how he or she will be involved in the art department.
  • The on-campus interview must be completed before a student can be considered for the scholarship. The on-campus interview dates are February 7 and February 21.
  • Out-of-state students may choose to attend the March 14 - 16 National Fly-in Weekend and interview at that time. If the March 14 - 16 Fly-in Weekend does not work, the March 28 - 30 Fly-in Weekend is an alternate option. Students are encouraged to contact their Admission Representative to make arrangements for a different weekend if the March 14 - 16 or March 28 - 30 dates do not work.
  • Students interviewing for our Trustees' Scholarship can schedule his or her Art interview to be held the same day as the Trustees' interview.

  • January 26 - students will be notified of their interview date, time and location
  • February 7 or 21 - attend an on-campus interview (out-of-state students, please see date options listed above)
  • Mid-March - students receive results

Compliance Requirements
  • $1,000 Awards: Each academic year, take a 2-or-more credit art course offered by the CSB/SJU Art Department.
  • $1,500-$4,000 Awards: Each semester, take a 2-or-more-credit art course offered by the CSB/SJU Art Department.

Please note

  • Students cannot be considered for Art, Music and Theater Scholarships until they have been accepted for admission.
  • This application is to be completed by students who plan a continued involvement in art.
  • Students do not need to major in art to be considered for an Art Scholarship.
  • Current CSB/SJU students are not eligible to apply for Fine Arts Scholarships.
  • Students must comply with the Art Scholarship requirements in order to maintain the Art Scholarship for four years at CSB/SJU.
  • Students may apply for more than one Fine Arts Scholarship; however, if they are awarded more than one, they may accept only one of them.
